Wellness and Spa Centre Ireland

March 13th, 2010

KR Interior Design creates bespoke luxury interiors for both residential and commercial projects. The company’s ethos is to offer a friendly yet professional service that really focuses on the clients’ vision and to do everything possible to bring that vision to life.

The design brief for the exclusive Kenmare Wellness and Spa Centre in Kerry Ireland was to create a quality, luxurious and harmonious environment for its clients. This premium spa wanted to make sure it set the right tone to establish itself as one of the most prestigious spas in Ireland and the interior design was vital to achieving this.

KR Interior Design looked first to the beautiful Kerry countryside for inspiration and by plucking key elements from its landscape – such as traditional Irish slate and stone – the designers created a contemporary but natural feel.

Getting the colour right was vital and, once again, KR’s design team looked to the landscape for inspiration and selected a neutral palette of taupe, grey and lavender to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

Lighting was also a fundamental to the success of this project and the subdued tones were further complemented by the use of minimal natural light.

The finished look is contemporary and urbane yet earthy and natural… the perfect combination for a health spa.

Travenna Barns

March 13th, 2010

Travenna is a group of very prestigious and luxury barns for short breaks in the heart of Cornwall.

The design brief for Trevenna was to create a bespoke, luxurious and comfortable environment in which its high-end clients would feel at home.

Having a sympathetic eye was critical with this project. With breathtaking panoramic views over the Cornish countryside from all round it was vital this unique beauty was reflected and complemented in the interior.

KR Interior Design’s team looked to the Cornish countryside for inspiration and sourced the highest quality Cornish stone, slate and wood to ensure the interior design was a true reflection of the Cornish surroundings.

A neutral pallet of taupe, grey and lavender were selected. To finish textures such as velvets, silks and linens were also introduced to create an overall boutique luxury that clients would aspire to be part of. To ensure the look achieved a high-end quality finish the fabrics were sourced from leading design houses such as Andrew Martin, Brian Yates and Osborne & Little.

The completed look is contemporary, relaxing and extremely luxurious with a sophisticated and respectful nod to the rustic surroundings.

St John’s Wood

February 24th, 2010

KR Interior Design was approached with a dream project; the total renovation and restoration of a four-storey villa-style house in St John’s Wood, London.

As the property was listed it required the ultimate in sensitivity but the client also wanted KR Interior Design’s signature stamp of luxury.

Prestige and comfort were at the centre of this brief but it also needed to be a practical home for a young family. It was vital to create a harmonious interior that was sympathetic to the traditional architecture whilst implementing a luxury and contemporary style.

A key element to achieving this brief was the design and implementation of high-end bespoke cabinetry in the study, bathroom and all the units in the drawing room. Everything had to be made-to-measure and in keeping with the look and feel of the house.

To finish KR Interior Design used a neutral palette of taupe, grey and lavender. This was complemented with a selection of textures ranging from velvets to silks.
