Upper Berkeley Street, Mayfair, London

This beautiful 5 story listed building in the heart of London took over 2 years to complete. The building had been poorly renovated over the years and our clients’ aim was to reinstate it to its forma magnificence.

Working alongside Westminster Council the layout was updated to incorporate a dressing room and en-suite to the master bedroom. Beautiful bespoke joinery was central to the overall design. Using Macassar Ebony wood in a contemporary style complimented the traditional architecture of the building whilst injecting modern clean lines. Lighting was a key component using a fusion of traditional and contemporary fittings from Porta Romana, CTO Lighting and Villaverde. In the drawing room beautiful curved sofas from Louise Bradley upholstered in silk velvet from Holly Hunt created the perfect touch of elegance the client desired.

A critical part of the design was the entrance hall, stairs and landing. As a listed building the stairs could not be replaced so the perfect solution was to clad them in timber to match the stunning Herringbone Oak floor that was fitted throughout the reception rooms. Walking on Wood expertly did this whilst managing to retain the original features.
